This Scotch whiskey was originally launched as a blended Scotch whiskey in 1908 by the Peter Thomson company in Perth and marketed until the late 1970s. It was considered one of the best blends in Scotland with a very high malt content (including Macallan content). At the beginning of the 1980s he became a victim of the Scotch crisis. After a few stops in between, the trademark rights ended up with Morrison & MacKay in 2013. Kenny MacKay, who started his whiskey career with Peter Thomson in 1977, relaunched it as a blended malt Scotch whiskey in 2014 with the approval of his old boss. With the restructuring and renaming to Morrison Scotch Whiskey Distillers in January 2021, the brand is presented in a new look. All Old Perth whiskeys are now unfiltered, uncolored and are blended in the most careful way and with great sensitivity exclusively with sherry cask-aged malt whiskeys from the Speyside Glenlivet region. The Old Perth Cask Strength is bottled at a strong 58.6% vol to allow its aromas to develop to their full potential.
