Aroma : The impression is unexpectedly fresh for the age of the whiskey. A citrus sweetness, perhaps more like the aroma of lemon peel, mixes with honey and beeswax. Then the typical Islay note comes through, initially in the form of slightly smoked sunflower seeds, then noticeably bacony, with grapefruit and spicy oak notes.

Taste : Fruity currants meet the smoked bacon and oak spice already present in the nose. Cinnamon sticks roasted over a wood fire combine with cranberries and a slight spiciness of ginger cream. Old leather and a strong coffee note complement the aroma. Later, notes of unripe plums and dark chocolate take over.

Finish: Long, with dry woody spice, smoky plum crumble and a slight cinnamon spiciness.
