Mackmyra Stjärnrök is a Swedish single malt whiskey with round tones of grapes and smoke, created with the darker months of the year in mind. For this edition we used large quantities of our handmade smoked malt recipe, which we then stored in Oloroso, ex-bourbon and American oak barrels of various sizes. To complement the smoke and round tones of the Oloroso cask, we added a number of older ex-bourbon casks filled with our elegant recipe, contributing vibrant citrus and vanilla tones. The whole thing is tied together by the addition of spicy Swedish oak barrels, previously saturated with Swedish cloudberry wine. Stjärnrök goes perfectly with cheese such as Pecorino, as well as figs and nuts.
