The final edition of our Lighthouse series is a true highlight that could hardly be more apt. Among a series of exceptional whiskeys, we proudly present a distillate from the Smögen distillery in Sweden, whose characteristic logo adorns a majestic lighthouse. This choice is of particular importance to us as it has long been a big dream of ours to receive an exclusive bottling from Pär, the talented manager of this impressive "1-Man-Army" distillery.

The path to this unique edition took us to Sweden at the beginning of this year. Here we had the unique opportunity to taste different barrels on site and experience the soul of the Smögen distillery. And from this journey our favorite cask emerged, a true treasure in our collection.

Notes on smögen:

Nose:

The first sniff reveals an impressive range of aromas. Maritime smoke conveys the rough coastal atmosphere of Sweden and is accompanied by a fresh sea breeze that carries salty and citrusy notes to the nose. A touch of mineral limestone gives the bouquet an earthy depth, while a sweet pastry note is reminiscent of honey pastries.

Mouth:

In the mouth the taste surprises with a direct presence of fresh pastry, reminiscent of toffee brioches. This melds gently with the flavors of fresh grapefruit, limoncello, seaweed and crunchy cornflakes. Towards the end, the sweetness spreads again and the smoke connects all components into a harmonious unity.

Departure:

The finish is characterized by refreshing sea air and impresses with its long-lasting, smoky sweetness. This taste impression is reminiscent of the vastness of the ocean and gives the enjoyment experience a lasting memory.
