The Ardmore distillery is one of the few that produces smoky whiskys and is not located on the islands of Scotland. Ardmore comes from the Highlands, which are not actually known for their peaty bottlings. In this case, this Ardmore was allowed to mature for 12 years in an ex-bourbon cask and was also given a finish in a port cask. This combination makes it a very unique Highlander.
