In Ichiro's own words, it is a "world whiskey" based primarily on Ichiro's malt, but complemented by a selection of Scottish, Irish, Canadian and American whiskeys. These whiskeys were first matured abroad for 3-5 years before being brought to Japan for a further 1-3 years of aging. The result is a successful combination of Japanese and international whiskey styles
