Solera is the name given to traditional sherry production. A fraction of each young cask is blended with older casks, so that every sherry always contains a portion of the first cask. The Starward Solera therefore contains a hint of the distillery's very first barrel. The single malt was stored in Apera wine barrels from the “McWilliams” winery, an Australian fortified wine.
