Traditionell lässt man diesen nicht altern. Mit der Reihe Vieux Sajous demonstriert Velier aber erfolgreich das Alterungspotential des Zuckerrohrbrandes.

Die Basis für den Vieux Sajous 5 y.o. ist biologisch angebautes Zuckerrohr der alten Sorte Cristalline aus Saint Michel de l'Attalaye. Das Destillat aus frisch gepresstem Saft reifte tropisch in 21 Single-Malt- und Rumfässern und ist ein Aushängeschild für die aromatische Bandbreite von Clairin.

Velier is known in the rum scene as a pioneer for authentic experiences. The importer, led by industry legend Luca Gargano, was also a "first mover" when it came to Clairin: the Italians were the first to bottle the locally produced rum from Haiti. Traditionally, it is not aged. However, with the Vieux Sajous series, Velier successfully demonstrates the aging potential of this sugarcane spirit.

The basis for the Vieux Sajous 5 y.o. is organically grown sugarcane of the old Cristalline variety from Saint Michel de l'Attalaye. The distillate from freshly pressed juice was tropically aged in 21 single malt and rum casks and is a flagship for the aromatic range of Clairin.
